
Three-month LME aluminium rose 1.08% to settle at US$2,488.5 per tonne in the overnight trading on Monday, with open interest losing 4,958 lots to 710,000 lots. On Tuesday, the price fell 1.55 per cent to end at US$ 2,450 per tonne in the overnight trading but increased the day next by 0.98 per cent to US$ 2,474 per tonne. On Thursday night, three-month LME aluminium decreased 4.41 per cent to end at US$ 2,352 per tonne.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price trended down this week during June 14-18 by US$ 130 per tonne. The prices started the week on Monday, June 14, at US$ 2,504 per tonne, growing by US$ 14 per tonne from the previous day. But on Tuesday, June 15, both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price decreased to 2,458.50 per tonne. They further reduced the next day, on June 16, to stand at US$ 2,454.50 per tonne and to US$ 2,427.50 per tonne on Thursday, June 17. LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price closed the week even lower on Friday, June 18, at US$ 2,374 per tonne.
3-months bid price and 3-months offer price slid from US$ 2,478 per tonne on June 14 to US$ 2,380 per tonne on June 18. On Tuesday, June 15, 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price stood down by US$ 28.50 per tonne from the previous day to US$ 2,449.50 per tonne. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the prices stood up at US$ 2,452.50 but again plunged to US$ 2,407 per tonne on Thursday, June 17.
Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price ranged between US$ 2,456.50 per tonne and US$ 2,374.50 per tonne during June 14-18. LME aluminium opening stock rose declined from 1652850 tonnes on Monday to 1621325 tonnes on Friday.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE started the week on Tuesday, June 15, at US$ 2,976 per tonne. On Monday, the market was closed for the Dragon Boat Festival. On Wednesday, the price decreased to US$ 2,945 per tonne and further plunged on the next day to US$ 2,427.50 per tonne. SHFE aluminium price closed the week on Friday, June 18, at US$ 2,867 per tonne, down US$ 109 per tonne through the week.
