According to a recent report, Lindian Resources has spotted a readily mineable maiden resource with high alumina grade for the Bouba Plateaux at its Gaoual Bauixte Project in Guinea.
The resource, first estimated by Cube Consulting, was based on 874 metres of drilling from 131 shallow holes.

The total JORC compliant resource stands at 102 million tonnes, with 49.8 per cent aluminium oxide, and includes high-grade areas of 84 million tonnes at 51.2 per cent aluminium oxide.
Additional digestion test work had also been conducted, which confirmed the presence of silicon dioxide content as fine-grained quartz. Simple screening could reduce the silicon dioxide content and increase the aluminium oxide content with a minimal loss of tonnage.
Lindian Resources chairman Asimwe Kabunga said, "I am very excited that the company has delivered a successful maiden resource of over 100 million tonnes at the Bouba Plateaux."
He also said, "This has confirmed our belief in the quality of our Gaoual Project, with bauxite grades superior to the product currently being sold in the international markets."
Lindian is now progressing on identifying a resource estimate for the neighbouring Mamaya Plateaux. The company’s shares are steady on the market, trading for 1.5 cents each at 1:46 pm AEST.
