Calculate Embedded Emissions for Unwrought Aluminium (HS7601)
Enter your input
Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.
Usage Procedure – How to use the CBAM Calculator Sheet
Enter or update values only in the
INPUT PARAMETERS section (Highlighted in blue) ,
including the carbon price, benchmark emissions, CBAM chargeable
percentage (as per the phase-in year), and imported quantity.
The system will automatically calculate the
payable emissions and the total CBAM cost (€)
based on the inputs provided.
Notes:
• Change any input value to automatically update CBAM cost.
• Formula used: Carbon price × payable emissions × quantity.
• Model aligned with CBAM supplier-side illustrative methodology.

Jaguar's posh new aluminium rich XF to debut in SA next month
2MINS READ
Jaguar's all new, second generation XF sedan will be launched in South Africa next month with a range of engine choices. The premium car maker says the 2-litre turbodiesel version will be the most efficient car in the midsize premium sedan class. Though the new XF’s general profile is very reminiscent of the outgoing model, the completely new and aluminium rich chassis structure mean it weighs up to 190kg less. This diet plan combines with a freshly-sculpted and also aluminium intensive body which is 10 percent more aerodynamic than the previous model’s.
Under the bonnet is the same 132kW/430Nm “Ingenium” diesel engine as found in the smaller XE sedan, paired with the same eight-speed auto gearbox. Jaguar says acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 8.1 seconds, but when driven frugally an average fuel consumption of 4.3 litres per 100km can be achieved. The British car manufacturer also says fuel consumption can dip as low as 3.8l/100km on open roads.
An average CO2 emissions figure of 114g/km falls below South Africa’s pollution tax threshold of 120g/km. Also available in our market will be a 177kW/340Nm turbopetrol, and a supercharged V6 with either 250 or 280kW outputs depending on trim level. Maximum torque is 450Nm for both versions.
