Hydro appoints Jon Ola Ystgaard as new Plant Manager for Husnes Aluminium Smelter
Hydro Aluminium Smelter in Husnes has appointed Jon Ola Ystgaard as a new Plant Manager, who will be reporting to Head of Primary Production in Hydro Aluminium Metal Ola Saeter.
Mr Ystgaard, who will be joining Hydro Husnes on October 11, comes with vast years of experience in the aluminium industry, starting at Elkem Aluminum Mosjøen in 2000, where he worked as an electrolysis process engineer. He then moved to Elkem Aluminum to work on projects.
In 2006, Jon Ola Ystgaard took over the position of Technical Manager at Elkem Aluminum, and after a year (2007), became Electrolysis Manager. He graduated in 1999 as a metallurgist from NTNU.
Since 2014, Jon Ola has been associated with Aludyne Norge AS, an aluminium car parts manufacturer based in Farsund, as the General Manager.
The former plant manager of Hydro Husnes Johan Berg has joined Qatalum, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Norsk Hydro.
