Hindustan Zinc hosted G. Kishan Reddy at its Rajpura Dariba Complex in Rajasthan, where he visited the Sindesar Khurd Mine and Dariba Smelting Complex.
{alcircleadd}The visit focused on the role of the mining and metals sector in supporting India’s infrastructure, manufacturing and energy transition requirements. Hindustan Zinc has an annual refined metal production capacity of more than 1.1 million tonnes and produces zinc, lead and silver used in galvanised steel, renewable energy, electric vehicles, electronics and defence applications.

Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, said, “India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 will be built on the strength of its mineral resources, domestic capabilities and future-ready industries. Hindustan Zinc’s operations reflect how the country’s mining sector is evolving into a modern, responsible and technology-driven growth engine for the nation. Its integrated tech-first mining-to-metal capabilities, focus on safety, innovation, diverse workforce and community development demonstrate the kind of self-reliant industrial ecosystem envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The minister was accompanied by Hindustan Zinc CEO Arun Misra, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines Vivek Bajpai and company officials.

At the Sindesar Khurd Mine, the minister reviewed underground mining operations, including tele-remote equipment, control room systems, safety procedures and paste-filling practices. He also attended a demonstration by the company’s women mine rescue team and interacted with contract workers, mining engineers and employees.
At the Dariba Smelting Complex, he visited the control room, cell house and cathode yard to review the company’s mining and smelting operations.
The minister also met women employees at the complex and noted the company’s workforce diversity efforts, including women accounting for 26.3 per cent of its workforce.
