Enter your input
Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.
Usage Procedure – How to use the CBAM Calculator Sheet
Enter or update values only in the
INPUT PARAMETERS section (Highlighted in blue) ,
including the carbon price, benchmark emissions, CBAM chargeable
percentage (as per the phase-in year), and imported quantity.
The system will automatically calculate the
payable emissions and the total CBAM cost (€)
based on the inputs provided.
Notes:
• Change any input value to automatically update CBAM cost.
• Formula used: Carbon price × payable emissions × quantity.
• Model aligned with CBAM supplier-side illustrative methodology.

EGA’s new alumina refinery due to begin construction this year
2MINS READ
The mega alumina refinery project at Abu Dhabi is all set to begin construction this year according to top officials.
EGA’s planned mega refinery project has almost completed the engineering study according to Saeed Fadhal Al Mazrooei, CEO of UAE Operations at EGA. At the inaugural site of Gulf Fluor, he told reporters that a detailed engineering study will commence soon.
An estimated cost for the mega project can only be determined after the full engineering study is completed said Al Mazrooei.
The project will have an estimated capacity of 4 million tons per annum of alumina and will be built in two phases. It will be located adjacent to Emal smelter in Khalifa Industrial Zone due to which it is estimated to require “very low capez” the CEO said.
EGA, founded in 2013 has seen exponential growth in production and resultant earnings quickly making it the fourth largest aluminium producer in the world. The Mubadala-owned company has earned a net income of Dh 3.7 billion in 2014 enjoying a 75% hike.
EGA also owns strategically located bauxite and alumina refinery in the Republic of Guinea. That along with the new proposed alumina refinery will strengthen the company’s upstream operations making them more self-sufficient in aluminium production.
