Dupuc plant to expand to meet aerospace demand

Rio Tinto Alcan's Dubuc plant in Quebec, Canada will increase its production of Airware alloys for the aerospace industry by more than 50%.
It has signed an agreement deal with Constellium's Global Aerospace division and will expand its plant to meet the new contract’s requirements.
Construction work is underway and will continue over the next several months.
Airware is composed of various complementary, low-density materials that are part of space programmes such as NASA's Orion and Space X's Falcon 9.
It will also soon be taking flight on the Airbus A350 XWB and Bombardier CSerie.
Constellium, formerly Alcan Engineered Products, manufactures aluminium products for markets and applications including aerospace, mass transportation, automotive, packaging, energy and construction.
It employs nearly 9500 people in 26 countries and conducts business in 60 markets. It is headquartered in Paris, France, and is owned by Apollo Management (51%), Rio Tinto (39%) and the Fonds Stratégique d'Investissement (10%). The company had a turnover of $4.4bn in 2010.
