The shipping of rolled aluminium goods in July decreased by 5.1 per cent year on year, totalling 145,429 tonnes, according to statistics from the Japan Aluminium Association's "Overview of Production and Shipments of Rolled Aluminium Products." Concurrently, output fell 5.6 per cent Y-o-Y, totalling 147,351 tonnes. According to the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA), aluminium foil deliveries fell 9.4 per cent in the first six months of 2023, reaching 444,000 tonnes. The Association also revealed that deliveries fell 15 per cent year on year in the second quarter due to sluggish demand, which resulted in destocking. On Monday, August 28, India's major rating agency, ICRA, indicated that due to the government's focus on infrastructure development, domestic aluminium demand growth would likely remain robust at over 9 per cent for the next two fiscal years (FY24 and FY25).
