Croatia’s Aluminium scrap exportation market reflects robust growth during 2017-20

The economy of Croatia is a developing high-income service-based economy and with the tertiary sector accounting for 60% of total gross domestic product (GDP). The Croatian economy is one of the strongest economies in Southeast Europe. COVID-19 Pandemic has caused more than 400.000 workers to file for a minimum net wage of 3,250 HRK given by the Government of Croatia as an aid to firms and companies for them not to fire their workers. The export goods of the nation comprise of transport equipment, machinery, textiles, chemicals, foodstuffs, fuels.

Croatia’s aluminium scrap export data reveals that during 2017-19 the export volume reached to 88,826 tonnes and the revenue earned stood at $90.80 million. The projected export volume for 2020 has been analysed at 42,002 tonnes and the revenue earnings to rise at $45.05 million. However, when the total export volume and earnings during 2017-20 are combined it exhibits 130,828 tonnes and $135.85 million respectively.

In 2017 the southern European nation’s aluminium scrap export was recorded at 15,880 tonnes and revenue earned stood at $13.52 million, whereas in 2018 the export volume reflected growth by 109.54%, as the export volume stood at 33,276 tonnes and the income also surged by 159.39%, as the revenue earning stood at $35.07 million.

The aluminium scrap export of Croatia in 2019 has also shown growth by 19.21%, as the export volume reached to 39,670 tonnes and the income stood at $42.21 million, while the projected export volume for 2020 has been analysed with positive marking by 5.87%, as the export volume to reach at 42,002 tonnes and income to rise at $45.05 million.

The major importing nation for Croatia’s export of aluminium scrap is Albania, Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Rep., France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, etc.
