On November 4, 2022, the global leader in developing innovative and value-added aluminium products, Constellium SE, announced that it is joining the First Movers Coalition (FMC), a global initiative to accelerate zero-carbon technologies and reduce carbon emissions.

In a global initiative led by the World Economic Forum and the US Government, the First Movers Coalition (FMC) leverages companies' combined purchasing power to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors. It has been joined by more than 50 companies to drive more green demand and low-carbon technologies and to advance climate change conservation.
Jean-Marc Germain, the CEO of Constellium, said, "We are proud to join the First Movers Coalition and to contribute to a faster decarbonization journey for the industry. Aluminium is fully and easily recyclable, and nearly 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today. The aluminium industry greatly promotes tomorrow's circular economy, and we are excited to leverage our sustainability actions with this global program."

"We are committed to doing our part in the fight against climate change and collaborating across the value chain to help drive the low-carbon transition."
Nancy Gillis, the Programme Head of the First Movers Coalition, World Economic Forum, said, “Constellium’s impact across the value chain makes the company a tremendous addition to the First Movers Coalition. We look forward to partnering with Constellium to encourage clean energy innovation and move the aluminium industry toward a zero-carbon future.”
As a member of the FMC, Constellium pledges that by 2030, 10 per cent of its primary aluminium purchases will be near-zero emissions, emitting less than 3 tonnes of CO2. Furthermore, Constellium committed to reusing at least 50% of its aluminium by 2030 under the FMC pledge.
Constellium’s commitment to the FMC complements its commitment to achieve a 30 per cent reduction in emissions intensity by 2030 (scope 1, 2 and 3) and increase recycling input by that time. In addition, they are engaged in developing a sustainable supply chain. As a founding member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, Constellium has certified several facilities.
Recently, the company joined the Mission Possible Partnership, an alliance of climate leaders focused on accelerating decarbonization across the entire value chain of the world's highest-emitting industries.
