China’s Shandong Nanshan Aluminum plans to spend RMB6.19bn ($973M) on constructing a production line for aluminium alloy with a 200kt/y capacity.

The plan also includes three casting production lines in a casting workshop, a hot-rolling production line, and facilities that will manufacture aluminium plates and strips as well as thin boards.

The annual production capacities of this program are expected to 50kt/y of aluminium plates, 50kt/y of thin boards of aluminium alloy, and 100kt/y of aluminium strips.

The plates manufactured by the plant are used in aviation products, ships, tools, container tanks and trains. The thin boards are used in aviation, automotive and tanks. It is expected to take three years to build.
