China’s alumina spot price adds RMB5/t; SMM A00 aluminium ingot price expands by RMB70/t Q-o-Q

The alumina spot price in China has inflated by RMB 5 per tonne to close at RMB 3,345 per tonne, while the alumina spot price in Shandong has gained RMB 15 per tonne to close at RMB 3,245 per tonne. In Guizhou, the alumina price has levitated by RMB 20 per tonne to rest at RMB 3,335 per tonne.

The SMM A00 aluminium ingot price has escalated by RMB 230 per tonne to close at RMB 18,980 per tonne, with the average markers hovering between RMB 18,960 per tonne and RMB 19,000 per tonne.

If we consider the aluminium price on October 24, last year, there is a Quarter-on-Quarter rise of RMB 70 per tonne or 0.37 per cent from the recorded rate of RMB 18,910 per tonne. The elevation in price can be attributed to the heightened trading activities in East China, though the forecast says the round-about transactions are going to be average.

The eight main provinces in China – An analogy

China’s eight central provinces have all registered heightening aluminium prices, with the highest spike noticed in Foshan by RMB 240 per tonne to close at RMB 19,120 per tonne. In Gongyi, the aluminium price has surged by RMB 230 per tonne, stopping at RMB 18,940 per tonne, followed by RMB 225 per tonne influx in Hangzhou to reach RMB 18,980 per tonne. The aluminium price in Wuxi has soared by RMB 220 per tonne to officiate at RMB 18,970 per tonne. In Linyi, the aluminium price has moved up the graph by RMB 200 per tonne to close at RMB 19,030 per tonne. The aluminium price in Shenyang has gained RMB 190 per tonne to park at RMB 18,980 per tonne. In Chongqing, the aluminium price has levitated by RMB 180 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,980 per tonne. Lastly, in Tianjin, the aluminium price has increased by RMB 170 per tonne to arrive at RMB 19,000 per tonne.

The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have risen by RMB 200 per tonne to officially close at RMB 26,500 per tonne and RMB 27,500 per tonne.

The aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A356) prices have increased by RMB 100 per tonne and RMB 250 per tonne, respectively, to close at RMB 19,900 per tonne and RMB 19,600 per tonne.

China’s aluminium powder price has added RMB 0.20 per kg to close at RMB 21.40 per kg, with the average prices revolving around RMB 21.30 per tonne and RMB 21.50 per tonne.
