China’s A00 aluminium ingot price marks RMB10/t slump after a week of steep rise; Low carbon aluminium sheds RMB30/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has dived down by RMB 10 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,450 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded at the beginning of the week, Monday, January 16. Last week, the aluminium ingot prices were on an upward trajectory but were unable to reach the range of RMB 19,060 per tonne created on December 27. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,430 per tonne and RMB 18,470 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 30 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne.

The provinces in China all have seen falling prices today, with aluminium ingot prices declining the highest in Chongqing, Shenyang and Tianjin by RMB 40 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,500 per tonne, RMB 18,420 per tonne and RMB 18,400 per tonne. The other provinces like Foshan and Wuxi also have witnessed RMB 30 per tonne plunge, resting at RMB 18,490 per tonne and RMB 18,435 per tonne, respectively. Among the three provinces left, Hangzhou and Linyi both have marked a decrease of RMB 10 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,460 per tonne and RMB 18,450 per tonne. Only in Gongyi, the price of aluminium has refrained from any change, being stuck at RMB 18,300 per tonne.

The low carbon aluminium price is on a downward path after eying a constant rise for one and a half weeks. The price has banked at RMB 19,067 per tonne, losing RMB 30 per tonne.

The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have remained stagnant in their previous positions of RMB 26,400 per tonne and RMB 27,400 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloy (A356), aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have marked no growth today.

The price of aluminium powder has also not changed today.
