China’s A00 aluminium ingot price loses RMB20/t; Caustic soda price in Shandong drops RMB15/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has dropped RMB 20 per tonne to close at RMB 18,400 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on Tuesday, September 6. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,380 per tonne and RMB 18,400 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne.

The provinces in China have witnessed a plunge in aluminium prices today, with A00 aluminium ingot price decreasing the highest in Linyi by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 18,400 per tonne, followed by an RMB 60 per tonne slump in Gongyi to RMB 18,340 per tonne. The price of aluminium in Tianjin has recorded an RMB 50 per tonne downfall to settle at RMB 18,400 per tonne, while the aluminium price has seen a dip of RMB 40 per tonne in Shenyang to rest at RMB 18,380 per tonne. The primary aluminium prices in Wuxi, Hangzhou and Chongqing have nosedived by RMB 20 per tonne to close at RMB 18,380 per tonne, RMB 18,430 per tonne and RMB 18,410 per tonne. Only in Foshan the aluminium price has shed RMB 10 per tonne to close at RMB 18,320 per tonne.

In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has lost RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,928 per tonne on Tuesday, September 6.

According to the data shown by SMM, high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have shown no alteration today.

Among input costs, the averaged alumina price in China has gone down by RMB 4 per tonne settling at RMB 2,945 per tonne. The alumina price in Shanxi has lost RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,890 per tonne.

The price of caustic soda (50% concentration) in Shandong has dropped by RMB 15 per tonne to stop at RMB 1,645 per tonne. The price of caustic soda flakes in Shandong has plummeted by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 4,300 per tonne.  

The aluminium alloy (A356), aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) prices have refrained from showing any change.  

The aluminium powder price in China has also remained stoic with the prices of the previous day.
