LME aluminium cash bid rises to $3,253/t as Asian reference price gains 0.55% on September 25

LME aluminium prices moved higher across cash and forward contracts on September 25, while the Asian Reference Price and alumina Platts price also increased. Opening stocks remained unchanged, while cancelled warrants rose sharply.

The LME aluminium cash bid price rose 0.80 per cent to USD 3,253 per tonne on September 25 from USD 3,227 per tonne on September 24. The cash offer price showed a similar trend. It also increased 0.80 per cent to USD 3,254 per tonne from USD 3,228 per tonne.

The three-month aluminium bid price rose 0.40 per cent to USD 3,265 per tonne from USD 3,252 per tonne, while the offer price increased 0.45 per cent to USD 3,267 per tonne from USD 3,252.50 per tonne.

Further along the forward curve, the December 2027 bid and offer prices both rose 0.50 per cent. The bid increased to USD 3,193 per tonne from USD 3,177 per tonne, while the offer moved up to USD 3,198 per tonne from USD 3,182 per tonne.

The LME aluminium three-month Asian Reference Price increased 0.55 per cent to USD 3,268 per tonne from USD 3,250 per tonne.

On the stocks front, LME aluminium opening stocks remained unchanged at 241,375 tonnes. Live warrants declined 0.42 per cent to 237,475 tonnes from 238,475 tonnes, while cancelled warrants jumped 34.5 per cent to 3,900 tonnes from 2,900 tonnes.

On September 25, LME alumina Platts price rose 0.58 per cent to USD 356.50 per tonne from USD 354.45 per tonne.
