
Acording to the data released by the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of unwrought aluminium and products - which include primary metal and unwrought, alloyed aluminium increased month-on-month by 30% in June.
Imports of unwrought aluminium and products stood at 294,081 tonnes last month. That was up from 225,458 tonnes in May. On a year-on-year basis, aluminium imports rose 1.8%.

In the first six months of 2021, unwrought aluminium and products imports totalled 1.46 million tonnes, customs said, an increase of 79.2% on the year.
The country began importing much higher-than-usual volumes of the aluminium from mid-2020 on higher due demand due to strong Shanghai prices.
Imports of bauxite in China declined by 3% year-on-year to 10.14 million tonnes in June. That marked an increase of 11.3% from 9.11 million tonnes in May. In January-June, imports fell 5.5% on the year to 55.14 million tonnes.
