The two parties exchanged ideas and shared know-how for productivity enhancement and cost reduction through disruptive technologies and innovations. The Canadian delegation which comprised senior executives from Advanced Dynamics, Equibras Inc, Stas and Solutions Fonderie Services Métallurgiques Inc. were proposed to form joint ventures for setting up upstream and downstream manufacturing facilities at the upcoming Angul aluminium park in Odisha.
The Canadian delegation’s India visit has ignited renewed optimism among industry players of the both countries. This is the eighth year after prime ministers Stephen Harper and Manmohan Singh had announced the launch of bilateral free trade negotiations between Canada and India in 2009. The time has now come for their successors- Justin Trudeau and Narendra Modi to take forward the talks to mutually-benefitting deals.
The delegation has agreed to look into Nalco’s proposal and work out the details. It also appreciated Chand’s role in catapulting Nalco to a great height through strategic investment plans and acquisition of coal and bauxite mines.
