Bauxite Resources and Shandong discovers bauxite reserves in Darling Range, Western Australia

2MINS READ
Potential bauxite reserves have been discovered at Darling Range tenements, Western Australia by Bauxite Resources and China’s Shandong. The new discovery made in the northern Darling Range and Wandering - Pingelly region is named "Dionysus" bauxite project .

The Indonesian Government has put its ban on Indonesia’s bauxite exports opening ways for other suppliers.

With the completion of vacuum drilling process in December 2013 significant bauxite mineralization was identified on the new Dionysus project in the northern Darling Range, and also on a number of properties in the eastern Darling Range. A number of significant intersections are 7 metres at 38.3% available alumina, 43.6% total alumina, and 2.9% reactive silica from 0.5 metres. Overburden was less than 2 metres.

The exploration project areas fall under a joint venture between HD Mining & Investments, 100% subsidiary of Shandong Bureau, a leading Geology & Minerals Institute. It is a fact that Bauxite Resources retains 100% rights to all other minerals discovered on the joint ventured properties.

The tenement holdings are held privately and located close to the existing rail infrastructure.

So Darling Range bauxite could be expected to be sought after highly by Chinese refineries as a long term alternative source of supply after Indonesian bauxite export ban came into effect on 12 January.

If that isn’t enough, then there is about $42 million in cash in the bank against a market capacity of just $28 million.
