Bangladesh Thai Aluminium Ltd. has recorded a 98 per cent falling net profit for the year ending on June 30, 2022, in contrast with the earnings of the previous year. This is mainly due to the augmented raw material and freight rates, alongside the degrading economic conditions of the region.

One of the greatest manufacturers encouraging the aluminium industry in Bangladesh, Thai Aluminium marked a net profit of only Tk 2.56 million in the fiscal year 2021-22, whereas the year before, it had an enormous earning of Tk 160 million.
Due to the above discrepancy, the company's earnings per share plummeted to Tk 0.02 compared to Tk 1.25 in the previous fiscal year.
Because there was an enormous plunge in profits, the board of directors initiated no dividend estimation for the company's fiscal year ending on June 30, 2022.
Bangladesh Thai Aluminium's net asset value (NAV) per share has docked at Tk 28.33 and net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) at Tk 0.51 for the year ending on June 30, 2022, which is greater than Tk 28.11 for NAV and Tk 0.14 for NOCFPS during the same frame in the fiscal year 2021.
Bangladesh Aluminium released only a 2 per cent cash dividend last year, and in 2020, the company allotted a 3 per cent cash and 3 per cent stock dividend to the shareholders.
The company declared in a statement that an annual general meeting would be scheduled on December 27 via a digital medium, though the marked date is November 23.
Bangladesh Thai Aluminium began its journey in 1979, and since then, the company has been manufacturing and commercialising high-quality aluminium extrusions or profiles for windows, doors, partitions, curtain walls, false ceilings, railway windows, tower bolts, vehicles, and other auxiliary industrial components.
The enterprise became a public listed company in 1991, being logged into the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchange. Its shares have downsized to Tk 17 just in the previous month.
