Bang & Olufsen has unveiled the final two models in its five-part Atelier series to mark its 100-year anniversary, introducing the Monarch and Zenith editions of the Beolab 90 at a price of USD 450,000 per pair.
{alcircleadd}It is priced similarly to expensive property purchases in locations like Australia and is limited to 10 pairs per edition.
Both versions are built on the existing Beolab 90 platform but shift the focus heavily towards design, especially through the use of aluminium and high-end materials.

The Monarch features sculpted rosewood lamellas layered over an aluminium frame, giving it a furniture-like finish rather than a typical speaker look, reflecting the company’s furniture-oriented design approach.
The Zenith, on the other hand, is covered with 1800 anodised aluminium spheres, assembled by hand, creating a shifting, reflective effect depending on light with a mother-of-pearl inlay that sits on top.
The speakers include 18 drivers and beam-forming technology, designed to control how sound is directed within a space. The core system itself starts at around USD 211,800, with the Atelier editions focusing more on exterior transformation.

The speakers are set to debut at its San Francisco Culture Store before moving through a limited global showcase. Buyers will also receive a certificate of authenticity along with a miniature aluminium version of the speaker.
At this level, the product sits somewhere between high-end audio and collectible design. The focus isn't so much on tiny audio improvements anymore; it's about crafting something that truly characterizes the environment it's in.
