National Aluminium Company Limited has raised its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices after reducing them by INR 3,400 per tonne about three weeks ago. With effect from Saturday, March 20, NALCO’s aluminium ingot price has come in at INR 183,350-186,850 per tonne, up by INR 1,500 per tonne from INR 181,850 – 185,350 per tonne on March 1. NALCO’s aluminium billets price is currently standing at INR 186,800-189,450 per tonne compared to INR 185,300 – 187,950 per tonne last time. Swedish rolled aluminium firm Gränges AB has reported its full-year results for 2020, saying that it has been a challenging yet productive year in many ways. The company’s sales volume increased, although marginally by 0.9 per cent, to 350.6 kilo tonnes versus 347.3 kilo tonnes in 2019. Gränges accomplished sustainability achievements like significantly reducing carbon emissions and increasing the adoption of renewable energy. Rusal reports a 6% decline in primary aluminium and alloys sales for FY2020, but a hike in VAP sales by 11%
Rusal’s primary aluminium and alloys sales in 2020 ended on December 31 stood at 3.926 million tonnes, reflecting a downfall of 5.99 per cent from 4.176 million tonnes a year ago. In the first half of the year ended on June 30, the sales hovered around 1.890 million tonnes, which improved by 7.7 per cent in the second half of 2020 to 2.036 million tonnes. However, on a year-on-year calculation, the sales in H2 registered a decline of 7.4 per cent from 2.198 million tonnes. Malaysia’s aluminium scrap import from the United States recorded a decrease of 7,900 tonnes or 17.83 per cent in December 2020 to stand at 36,400 tonnes, found the US Geological Survey’s latest data. In November 2020, the import volume stood almost flat at 44,300 tonnes compared to 44,800 tonnes in the previous month. In the entire December quarter (Q4), Malaysia imported 125,500 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the US, which reflected a downfall of 2,300 tonnes or 1.8 per cent from 127,800 tonnes in the September quarter (Q3).
