US aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico extend M-o-M decline by 7.79% to 23,100 tonnes

Month-on-month decline in aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports from the United States to Mexico extended decline for the second consecutive months in December 2020 from 23,100 tonnes to 21,300 tonnes, reflecting a downfall of 7.79 per cent. In November, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico stood 9.97 per cent lower than 25,100 tonnes in October 2020.

Total exports from the US to Mexico in the fourth quarter of 2020 came in at 69,500 tonnes, up by 5.46 per cent from 65,900 tonnes in Q3.

On a year-on-year calculation, the US aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico in December 2020 stood flat in comparison with 21,600 tonnes.

In the entire year of 2020, the US aluminium semi-finished products exports to Mexico stood at 265,000 tonnes, down by 27.18 per cent from 364,000 tonnes in 2019.

In December 2020, the United States total exports of aluminium plates, sheets and bars were at 53,500 tonnes, down by 4.46 per cent month-on-month from 56,000 tonnes and 4.63 per cent year-on-year from 56,100 tonnes.

In the full year, the US exported 687,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to Mexico, which reflected a downfall of 20 per cent year-on-year from 859,000 tonnes.
