Palatine, Illinois based Arlington Plating Company has recently installed and started up an aluminium anodizing line at its facility in Cook County headquarters, reported company sources. The US$2 million plus capital investment has been made by Arlington in order to meet the increasing demand of aluminium anodizing in the surface finishing industry that prioritizes superior precision as per design specifications and stringent OEM performance.
The 5,000 sq ft fully automated aluminium anodizing line is comprised of 44 process tanks and can produce MIL-A-8625 Type II (sulfuric) anodizing characterized by die colouring, electro colour capabilities and high pH sealants. Various finishing applications such as bright dip, satin finish, and lacquer/post-dip are offered by the line. The automated line can also process automotive exterior trim applications measuring up to 100 inches long and meeting pH requirements as mandated by the industry.
The market for anodizing is growing piggybacking the growth in the automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries. Manufacturers in all these industries opt for long-lasting, high abrasion and corrosion resistant coatings. Aluminium anodizing offers that with enhanced value-addition through a wide colour palette. Plus, the end results are almost always cost-effective solutions.
“APC’s long established and trusted finishing expertise ensures customers will be provided knowledge-based, process manufacturing far beyond the anodizing line,” said Richard Macary, president of Arlington Plating.
