
State-owned diversified miner PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) announced plans to significantly increase production and sales of bauxite in 2018.The company targets 126 per cent increase in production and 90 per cent increase in sales this year.

The company aims both production and sales volume of bauxite in 2018 of 1.60 million wet metric tons (wmt) respectively to meet domestic and export market demand.
ANTAM exported 838,069 wmt of bauxite in 2017, an increase of 181 per cent. The company produced 705,322 wmt of bauxite last year.
In April 2017, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Indonesia issued a series of export recommendations that allowed ANTAM to export bauxite overseas. The directive allowed export of 850,000 tonnes of washed bauxite.
ANTAM's President Director, Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo said: "In 2018, ANTAM targets significant operational performance growth on the Company's main commodities production and sales compared to unaudited operational performance in 2017. We are committed in elevating our operational performance as well as maintaining competitive cash cost to deliver solid returns to our shareholders and stakeholders."
