Aluminum Association updates on aluminium scrap

New can stock (class) scrap receipts totaled 59.9 million pounds during January 2014, a decrease of 14.3 percent from the January 2013 total of 69.9 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, class scrap receipts rose 7.0 percent over the December 2013 total of 55.9 million pounds. Class scrap for 2013 totaled 737.6 million pounds, off 4.7 percent from the 2012 total of 774.0 million pounds.
