Aluminium billet inventories drop by 3,200 tonnes to stand at 102,500 tonnes this week

Aluminium billet inventories in China have decreased this week, ending on Thursday, October 15, due to a decline in arrivals at warehouses, found the Shanghai Metals Market. SMM data shows the aluminium billet stocks have dipped by 3,200 tonnes from last Friday, October 9, across five major consumption areas to stand at 102,500 tonnes, as of Thursday, October 15.

In Wuxi, aluminium billet inventories have declined by 2,680 tonnes to stand at 16,820 tonnes on October 15, while that in Huzhou have decreased by 1,000 tonnes to come in at 11,000 tonnes. In Foshan, Nanchang, and Changzhou, the inventories have inched down by 500 tonnes, 350 tonnes and 300 tonnes, respectively, to hover at 51,900 tonnes, 12,700 tonnes, and 10,050 tonnes.

Despite the decrease in aluminium billet inventories today, the prices of aluminium alloys have remained restrained, according to SMM data. While the price of aluminium alloys (ADC12) has continued to stand at RMB 15,150 per tonne, the prices of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A380) are hovering at RMB 15,600 per tonne and RMB 16.050 per tonne, respectively.
