Global trade statistics from 2015 onward reveal a noticeable surge in exports of aluminium extrusions from Malaysia. This is striking since the South-east Asian country has barely ever been a hub for extruded aluminium production. The trend seems to be continuing well into 2017; estimate shows that aluminium bar rods and profiles export from the country will keep growing this year as well.
