Alcoa names Meggers president of Global Rolled Products

Aluminum maker Alcoa named Kay Meggers president of the company’s global rolled products business succeeding Helmut Wieser, who will be retiring at the end of the year.
The change is effective Monday, but Meggers and Wieser will work together through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition, the company said in a statement.
“Kay’s experience has prepared him well to lead Global Rolled Products at this important phase of the business’ evolution,” said Alcoa Chairman and CEO Klaus Kleinfeld in a written statement. “Since he joined Alcoa, he has had an important role in most of the Company’s major strategic initiatives, from enhancing technology and innovation as part of the Alcoa Technology Advantage program to spearheading growth strategies for China and Brazil.”
