Alba becomes the first industrial firm in Bahrain to have received ISO 18788:2015 Certification
On Monday, May 29, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) announced that it secured ISO 18788:2015 Certification, which represents its high-end Quality Management System. The world’s largest aluminium smelter outside China takes immense pride in becoming the first industrial company in Bahrain to have received this certification.
ISO 18788:2015 serves as an international benchmark for the company to conduct its professional security operations in certain ways that meet the requirements of clients and stakeholders and adhere to applicable laws and human rights rules.
The certification was given to Alba following the surveillance audit of its Security Operations Management System (SOMS) at the main site, Calciner and Marine Facility and S.P.L. Treatment Plant. Alba obtained the certification through an international certification body – Bureau Veritas (B.V.).
On receiving the certification, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, said: “We are honoured to be the first industrial organisation in the Region and Bahrain to have received ISO 18788:2015 Certification. This certification demonstrates our strong governance as a business to continue leading the way in our industry and is a testament to our commitment to meet international standards while doing our work.”
