$60 m invested for Puerto Rico‘s aluminum plant
Puerto Rican Investors have invested a total amount of $60 million for the aluminum can plant located at Cidra in Puerto Rico. The products will be exported to countries such as Jamaica, United States, the Dominican Republic and many other countries in that region.

Puerto Rican owns Caribbean Can Manufacturing Company; a plant that produces cans for a number of soft drink and beer brands.

According to the Caribbean plant, the aluminium plant at Cidra has an overall capacity of producing 1,800 aluminum cans per minute (or an annual production of around 650 million units). The investors also expect the plant to produce aluminum cans for markets in Puerto Rican and will export cans to markets in United States and Latin America as well.
