Riding the momentum of India's rapidly expanding semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, KAS Group, one of India's leading engineering conglomerates enabling semiconductor, electronics and advanced manufacturing industries, today announced the appointment of Vijayakumar Gobbaka as General Manager – Business Development. The appointment comes as the Group expands its semiconductor infrastructure capabilities, strengthens engagements with leading global semiconductor equipment manufacturers and OEMs, and scales manufacturing through facility in Doddaballapur.

In his new role, Vijay will lead business development strategy for its business verticals—UHP Technologies, driving strategic customer partnerships, expanding international business opportunities and supporting the Group's long-term vision of building globally competitive engineering and semiconductor infrastructure solutions from India.

The appointment comes at a defining moment for India's semiconductor ecosystem as policy initiatives transition into large-scale execution and manufacturing investments. With integrated capabilities spanning ultra-high-purity gas and chemical delivery systems, semiconductor process utilities, precision equipment manufacturing and contract manufacturing for semiconductor capital equipment, KAS Group is strengthening its leadership team to capitalise on growing domestic demand and the global shift towards resilient, diversified supply chains.

Vijay brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning semiconductor, petrochemicals, oil & gas and nuclear engineering. During his career, he has held engineering, project management and commercial leadership roles with Reliance Industries, SI Group India, Schneider Electric and Tata Consulting Engineers, where he contributed to the ITER nuclear fusion programme in France before transitioning into strategic business development for global industrial clients including Saudi Aramco and SABIC. He holds an Executive MBA from the joint programme offered by IIT Bombay and Washington University in St. Louis' Olin Business School.

Speaking about joining KAS Group at a defining moment for India's semiconductor ambitions, Vijayakumar Gobbaka, General Manager – Business Development, KAS Group, said, “India’s semiconductor story is entering a phase where execution capability will matter as much as policy intent. As global manufacturers diversify their supply chains and look for trusted engineering partners, companies that combine technical depth with manufacturing excellence will define the next decade of growth. KAS Group has built an exceptional foundation across ultra-high-purity infrastructure, precision engineering and semiconductor equipment manufacturing, placing it in a unique position to participate in this transformation. I look forward to leveraging my experience across engineering, process industries and strategic business development to deepen relationships with global OEMs, accelerate market expansion and contribute to building globally competitive semiconductor infrastructure from India.”

Welcoming Vijay at a time when India's semiconductor ecosystem is transitioning from policy announcements to large-scale execution, Manjunath Jyothinagara, Managing Director, KAS Group, also added, “India stands at the beginning of a once-in-a-generation opportunity to establish itself as a trusted global manufacturing destination for semiconductor infrastructure and capital equipment. As demand accelerates, success will depend on companies that can scale engineering excellence, manufacturing precision and customer partnerships simultaneously. Vijay brings an uncommon combination of technical credibility and commercial leadership across highly regulated industries, making him an ideal addition to our leadership team. His experience will strengthen our engagement with global customers as we continue expanding our manufacturing capabilities and reinforce KAS Group’s vision of building world-class engineering solutions from India for the world.”

With India’s semiconductor ecosystem entering a high-growth phase, KAS Group continues to invest in leadership talent and specialised expertise to support its next phase of expansion. The company remains committed to building a strong, future-ready organisation capable of serving global customers with world-class engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
