In May 2025, the portion of China's alumina exports to Russia accounted for 88.28 per cent of the total export volume, with Russia remaining the primary destination for China's alumina exports. From January to May 2025, China exported a cumulative 780,000 tonnes of alumina to Russia, accounting for 66.6 per cent of the total export volume. In June, China's alumina export window remained closed, and Russia was still expected to be the main destination for China's alumina exports. In June, domestic alumina import profits mainly hovered around the break-even line, and imports of alumina into China were anticipated. However, overall, alumina was expected to maintain a net export pattern.
