The solar promise
The power plant is expected to generate green energy of an estimated 73,000 kWh annually and renewable energy of almost 1.82 million kWh throughout its lifetime. Guided by IHCL’s Paathya framework, the step marks a milestone with a strategic aim to reduce carbon footprint and reliance on traditional non-renewable energy sources.
He reiterated the resort’s commitment to sustainability, regarding the solar power plant as “a meaningful step towards reducing our carbon footprint while strengthening long-term energy efficiency. Aligned with IHCL’s Paathya framework, we remain committed to implementing initiatives that are thoughtful, measurable and future-ready, while continuing to deliver the intuitive service and warmth that define Taj.”
Blending the guest’s comfort with sustainability
Checking into the Taj will now have a feel-good factor to offer its guests.
Boarders will be pleased to learn about the hotel’s commitment to product freshness, such as the in-house water bottling plant that generates around 1,000 bottles, each storing 500 ml, signifying reduced reliance on externally sourced packaged water.
Additionally, green mobility is reinforced with 3 EV chargers around the compound, giving guests a positive experience that strengthens long-term energy efficiency.
Impressive? But hold on, there are more environmental endeavours to talk about!
Other clean energy uses
Apart from the solar energy initiative, the Taj has already introduced other renewable uses like sewage and effluent treatment plants for reinforcing a water treatment capacity of 350 KLD, alongside recycled water to be implemented in irrigation and cooling towers. Moreover, there are 4 rainwater harvesting recharge pits for groundwater replenishment. For horticulture purposes, the organic waste composter with a 250 kg capacity converts food waste into manure.
If you have considered the Taj for a clean and comfortable stay during your trip, you have made the right choice. Cutting off the polluting factors, it promises the signature Taj comfort while actively reducing its environmental impact.
