Weldaloy builds on its aluminium forging capabilities

Weldaloy Products Company has been on an expansion spree. The company has been adding to its seamless rolled ring capabilities, and in line with these recent upgrades, it has added a new low-temperature aluminium aging oven at its plant that will increase its aluminium heat-treating capacity.

The U.S. based leading manufacturer of custom aluminium and other non-ferrous forgings Weldaloy serves a wide cross section of industries including Aerospace, Electronics, Oil and Gas, and others. The company’s vertically integrated capabilities serve as a one-stop source for custom-made forged aluminium and other machined metal products for its global customers.

The ovens that are created specifically for aging of aluminium substantially reduce cycle time thereby increasing productivity through temperature uniformity optimization by facilitating adequate airflow. The end result is a better product that can be yielded through a repeatable procedure.

“We’re receiving more and more requests for large aluminium work, so we needed to add this low temperature aluminium aging oven to be able to increase our capacity and meet production needs. This addition will allow us to produce more parts in the same amount of time for our customers while maintaining quality,” said Kurt Ruppenthal, Vice President & General Manager at Weldaloy.

Weldaloy has made some real headway in the aluminium space recently that came to them from the aerospace industry and oil and gas industry. The company has been awarded with AS9100C certification for their Quality Management System, which has further broadened the scope for them to work with more aerospace companies that specifically require certification of their suppliers.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our aluminium capabilities to meet the increase in demand,” said Ruppenthal on the company’s future outlook.
