Volclay offloads stake in Ashapura Minechem to Albula investment

Volclay International Corporation holds 9.47% stake in Ashapura. It sold shares via two block deals - one block deal was of 37,50,285 equity shares at R45.75 apiece on the BSE and other one was of 41,07,060 lac shares at R48.70 on the NSE.
Volclay International, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYSE-listed AMCOL International Corporation, had acquired a 20% minority interest in Ashapura Minechem in May 2011.
Volclay International Corporation processes natural minerals into raw materials for industrial processes and household products.
Established in 1960 the Ashapura group is the multi-mineral solution provider. It is the exporters of traded bauxite in the world and is amongst the top five Benonite companies.
In February, Albula Investment Fund Ltd sold 3,000,000 shares of Aqua Logistics at R11.50 on the BSE.
In the mining space, Dalmia Bharat Refractories was planning to acquire mines in China and Vietnam; two MF entities of the same group, American Funds, bought over 38.45 lakh shares of Carborundum Universal Ltd which engages itself in manufacturing abrasives, ceramics, refractories, and electro-minerals.
Also, Indian mining firm May Flower Mining Enterprise Limited was planning to invest $116 Mn in the Delbi Mining S.C.'s coal mine in south-western Ethiopia.
