Vedanta lifts its aluminium ingot price by INR4500/t on Nov. 23 after a cut on the previous day

Vedanta Limited has hiked its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices, with effect from Wednesday, November 23, following a cut on the previous day. On Tuesday, November 22, Vedanta reduced its aluminium ingot price by INR 2,000 per tonne to INR 221,750-252,750 per tonne, following which, the company hiked the ingot price by INR 4,500 per tonne or 2.03 per cent to INR 226,250-257,250 per tonne as of November 23.

Vedanta’s aluminium wire rod price has also seen a raise of INR 4,500 per tonne on November 23 to INR 233,750-241,250 per tonne, following a dip of INR 2,000 per tonne from INR 231,250-238,750 per tonne on November 19 to INR 229,250-236,750 per tonne on November 22.

Aluminium billet price is currently standing at INR 235,250 per tonne, up by INR 4,500 per tonne from INR 230,750 per tonne on November 22.

Vedanta lifted its aluminium ingot and products prices on November 23, in response to the rise of the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metals Exchange. On November 22, the LME aluminium benchmark price escalated by US$50 per tonne from US$2,344 per tonne to US$2,394 per tonne.

Vedanta’s aluminium business typically accounts for one-third of the company’s consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share in India's primary aluminium market.
