USA’s Aleris offers marine alloy temper

The alloy meets new standards for marine plate as specified in the American Society for Testing and Materials’ (ASTM) B928-13 standard, the company said.
While exposure to elevated temperatures can increase the susceptibility of marine alloys to corrosion, Cleveland-based Aleris’ new process for developing marine plate temper demonstrates enhanced corrosion resistance in such conditions, the company said.
Aleris is also looking into applying the H128 temper to other plate products, it said.
