U.S. to witness a slight surge in aluminium cans exports in 2017

The U.S., one of the largest manufacturers of aluminium cans in the world, exports the largest chunk of aluminium cans worldwide. The leading manufacturers of the US are Ball Corporation (Ball-Rexam), Ardagh Group, CROWN Holdings, Inc. and many more.

According to the recent estimate, in 2015, U.S. exported 23739 tonnes of aluminium cans worldwide. Compared to 2015, in 2016, the country exported an estimated 30179 tonnes of aluminium cans. The aluminium can export by U.S. is estimated to increase in 2017. The country is estimated to export around 30336 tonnes of aluminium cans

In 2015, the total revenue from the export was US$ 198.7million. The country generated revenue of approximately US$ 227 million from the export of aluminium cans in 2016. In 2017, the revenue from export is estimated to be about US$ 170.7million.

According to the recent statistics, the leading importer of aluminium cans from the U.S. is Mexico. Mexico imported an estimated16828 tonnes of aluminium cans from the country in 2016.Countries like Netherland, Bahamas, Costa Rica and Trinidad Tobago also import a significant volume of cans from the U.S.
