The rapid rise of Croatian export of Aluminium cans during 2017-19: Estimated de-growth by 65.68% for 2020

Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to the southeast, sharing a maritime border with Italy. The Croatian economy is one of the strongest economies in Southeast Europe.

The industrial sector with exports of over €10 billion annually is dominated by shipbuilding which accounts for over 10% of exported goods. Food processing and chemical industry also account for significant portions of industrial output and exports. The industrial sector represents 27% of Croatia's total economic output while agriculture represents 6%. The industrial sector is responsible for 25% of Croatia's GDP.

Croatia's export of aluminium cans

The aluminium cans export market of Croatia during 2017-19 has shown a rapid rise as the total export volume stood at 11,532 tonnes and the revenue generated during the same phase remained at $59.65 million. The estimated export for 2020 has been analysed at 1870 tonnes and the income might stand at $12.05 million. When the estimated export volume and income of 2020 gets summed up with the existing three years, it reflects 13,402 tonnes and $71.70 million respectively. However, the export volume and income remain the lowest for the current year when compared at a stretch of four years of export trade of aluminium cans.

Croatia’s aluminium cans export in 2017 has been recorded at 2142 tonnes and the foreign revenue generated stood at $12.64 million, whereas in 2018 the export reflected a growth of 83.94%, as the export volume stood at 3940 tonnes and the income surged to $21.28 million.

In 2019 Southeast European nation’s aluminium cans export volume showed an inclined market by 38.32%, as the export volume rose to 5450 tonnes and the foreign revenue generation also climbed to $25.73 million. In both export volume and income 2019 marked as the top performed year in the phase of 2017-20.

The projected export volume for 2020 has been analysed with a steep downtrend by 65.68% as the export volume might stand only to 1870 tonnes.

Croatia’s major trading nation for aluminium cans exportation are Bosnia Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, etc.
