SMM A00 aluminium ingot price skids RMB170/t today, up RMB150/t Y-o-Y; China’s alumina price marks RMB2/t hike

The Shanghai Metals Market on August 14 recorded a profound plunge of RMB 170 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,380 per tonne, with average aluminium ingot prices hovering between RMB 18,360 per tonne and RMB 18,400 per tonne.

The SMM A00 aluminium ingot price historical data indicates there has been a year-on-year increase of RMB 150 per tonne or 0.82 per cent in aluminium prices if we consider the numbers on August 15, last year.

The eight quintessential production zones in China all have witnessed a crunch in aluminium prices, with the highest slump marked in Foshan and Chongqing, where the price fell by RMB 180 per tonne to finally park at RMB 18,340 per tonne and RMB 18,360 per tonne, respectively. In Hangzhou, the aluminium ingot price has dropped by RMB 170 per tonne to officially settle at RMB 18,830 per tonne. Other than that, in places like Gongyi, Wuxi, and Shenyang, theA00  aluminium ingot prices rolled down by RMB 160 per tonne to close at RMB 18,340 per tonne, RMB 18,380 per tonne and RMB 18,340 per tonne, sequentially. In Linyi, the aluminium ingot price lost RMB 140 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,440 per tonne. Lastly, in Tianjin, the aluminium ingot price has lowered down by RMB 110 per tonne to ultimately halt at RMB 18,410 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium price (99.99%) and the high-purity aluminium price (99.996%) have both plummeted by RMB 200 per tonne to close at RMB 25,900 per tonne and RMB 26,900 per tonne, respectively.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has dived by RMB 176 per tonne, to rest at RMB 19,067 per tonne. 

The average alumina price in China’s metal market has gained RMB 2 per tonne to officially clock at RMB 2,906 per tonne, while the alumina price in Guizhou has gathered RMB 5 per tonne to rest at RMB 2,905 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have heightened by RMB 100 per tonne, stopping at RMB 18,900 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne, while the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has jumped up by RMB 150 per tonne, settling down at RMB 19,000 per tonne.

China’s aluminium powder price has shed RMB 0.10 per kg to close at RMB 20.30 per kg, with average prices circulating between RMB 20.20 per kg and RMB 20.40 per kg.
