Forget bowls, spoons, or waiting by the microwave, Romania-based read-to-eat meal company Dozz is flipping the script with chilled, ready-to-eat soup in recyclable aluminium cans. Believed to be the first of its kind, the format delivers a chilled shelf life of 4–8 months, depending on the recipe, offering flexibility for both retailers and out-of-home outlets.
Already gaining traction with several major European retailers, the product is positioned to meet growing consumer demand for convenience, waste reduction, and sustainable packaging solutions. Dozz will officially unveil the product at the Lunch! show in London on 24–25 September 2025. Visitors can discover the can in person at stand L222 in the Innovation Gallery.
Ten flavours, spanning both meat-based and plant-based options, are set to launch in the UK. The line-up includes Gazpacho, mixed vegetable, yoghurt & mint, tomato, broccoli, chicken, chilli bean, lentil, Mushroom and spinach.

“Today’s consumers are time-constrained but more health-conscious than ever. We created Dozz to be an on-the-go solution, something fast, nutritious and enjoyable. Whether you’re commuting, in back-to-back meetings or simply don’t have time to cook, DOZZ offers real food that’s ready when you are, with no heating and no hassle,” said Ender Bolat, general manager at Dozz.
The news comes alongside fresh figures from Metal Packaging Europe and European Aluminium, which reveal that aluminium beverage cans in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland are now recycled at a rate of 74.6 per cent. Although this marks a slight 1 per cent decline, the total volume of aluminium recovered has risen to a record 580,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, innovation in design continues. Asahi has reimagined one of its beverage cans by harnessing the release of carbon dioxide upon opening to lift real lemon slices to the surface, delivering a ‘unique sensory experience’.
