Shipments of aluminium extruded products in North America up in 2017

<p>According to the latest Aluminum Association reports, shipments of Aluminum Extruded Products that includes extruded shapes, pipe & tube, and rod & bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at an estimated 471.4 million pounds during March 2017, a rise of 1.6% over the March 2016 revised total of 463.9 million pounds.</p>

<p>On a month on month comparison, shipments increased 12.4 per cent over the February 2017 total of 419.2 million pounds. Shipments for the period of January to March 2017 stood at 1,319.5 million pounds, slightly up from the same period in 2016.</p>

<p>Estimated shipments of aluminum drawing stock, bare wire and rod & bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 110.5 million pounds during March 2017, up 8.5% YoY. On a month on month comparison, shipments rose 8.1% over the February 2017 total of 102.2 million pounds. Year-to-date shipments through March 2017 totaled 320.9 million pounds, up 10.2% from the same period in 2016.</p>
