Russian researchers create nano powders for making high strength aluminium alloy

According to a report of Russian News Agency TASS, Russian researchers have created a new nano powders that can be added to aluminium alloy. Nano powders when added with aluminium alloy offers high strength and enhanced qualities to the alloy and makes them more flexible.  

Igor Karpov, the head of Siberian Federal University ( SFU) laboratories, said, "This is our unique development of researchers from the SFU and the Krasnoyarsk Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Siberian Department.”

He further emphasized: “The aluminium processing technology with use of special nano powders created by us unveils new opportunities to produce composite materials with improved properties, that is, with higher strength, rigidity of flexibility.”

The nano powders will be used mostly by metals and machine-building companies that specialize in the production of cast products from aluminium alloy, the researcher concluded.

The researchers have developed nano powders at the laboratories of the Siberian Federal University (SFU) in Krasnoyarsk.
