
RUSAL reported a 0.7 per cent quarter-on-quarter decline in alumina production in the second quarter of 2019. Alumina production dropped from 1.93 million tonnes to 1.91 million tonnes. Russian operations accounted for 36 per cent of the total output.
Total alumina production stood at 3.85 million tonnes in the first half of 2019, compared with 3.81 million tonnes in the first half of 2018. This marks an increase of 0.9 per cent year-on-year.

Aughinish Alumina produced 470,000 tonnes of alumina in Q2. Production in H1 was 949,000 tonnes. Production from Windalco remains unchanged at 109,000 tonnes in Q2. Nikolaev Alumina Refinery’s alumina production came in at 410,000 tonnes in Q2.
RUSAL achieved bauxite production of 4.24 million tonnes in the second quarter of 2019. That was up 10.7 per cent quarter-on-quarter, primarily as a result of seasonal accumulation of inventories on North Urals and Timan mines.
Bauxite production stood at 8 million tonnes in the first half of 2019, an increase of 28.6 per cent year-on-year.
Bauxite production at Friguia, Kindia and Dian-Dian stood at 284,000 tonnes, 885,000 tonnes and 678,000 tonnes respectively in the second quarter. North Urals and Timan produced 601,000 tonnes and 926,000 tonnes of bauxite.
