Rusal signs Gas Treatment Centre contract

Solios Environnement, a Fives Solios group, has signed an amendment contract with UC Rusal for the design, manufacturing and delivery of Gas Treatment Centers (GTC) to the Taishet (TaAZ) and Boguchany (BoAZ) aluminium smelters in Russia.
The construction of the two modern smelters were put on standby in 2008 due to the world financial crisis, but in 2011, Rusal restarted the projects.
Solios Environnement will supply two GTC’s for pot lines, equipped with Vibrair technology and the Yprios dual duct system to the BoAZ, Krasnoyarsk smelter, which Rusal is building with RusHydro. The smelter’s design capacity is 600kt/y of aluminium with first metal forecasted in 2013.
The TaAZ smelter, to be built in the Irkutsk region should operate at 410kA, one of the highest amperages in the world, to produce750kt/y of aluminium. Solios will supply two GTC’s for pot lines also equipped with Vibrair and Yprios.
