Rusal launches online trading platform

"The main goal of Rusal's production strategy is to increase the production volume and broaden the range of value-added products tailored for our customers' needs and expectations," said Egor Ivanov, Rusal's director for control, internal audit and business coordination, in a statement.
"We can achieve this goal only through cooperation with reliable and highly professional partners. The 'Suppliers' system provides full and easy access to information, which is a key prerequisite for competitive bidding process, resulting in guaranteed quality, prompt delivery and reasonable prices," Ivanov added.
Rusal is the world's largest producer of aluminium, accounting for approximately 9% of global production of both aluminium and alumina in 2011.
The online platform presents the latest information about Rusal's competitive selections and is divided into the following subsections: inventory, transport services, freight, construction, research and development and others.
The aim is to increase both the transparency of Rusal's suppliers selection and the number of bidders, Rusal said, adding: "The automation of the selection process will help the company to manage its supply chains, lower costs, raise selection transparency and the quality of goods and services provided by contractors."
