Queensland Alumina resumes trucking activity

Edited by : AL CIRCLE

Trucking activity into the Queensland Alumina Limited plant will increase from today as the company feels the impact of recent heavy rain.

QAL said heavy rainfall had limited its ability to receive coal by rail, and the refinery had had to source alternative coal supplies.

Coal will be transported by road from Barney Point Coal Terminal from today, continuing for 20 days.

It is expected up to 20 truck movements per day will occur between 6am and 6pm.

Trucks will travel from the coal terminal along Barney St, right into Bell St, left into Brisbane St and along Harbour Rd, to QAL.

The quad dog trucks will be covered and will be washed at either end of the journey.

QAL has apologised for any inconvenience caused, and encourages residents to call 1800 181 110 if they have any queries.
