If you go back to the 1960s in Gladstone the biggest employer was the Meatworks and it was a much different place to now.
When the meatworks closed down, the entire complexion of the town changed dramatically with a new player in town, Kaiser Engineers and Constuctors who came to build the Queensland Alumina refinery.
Jim Elliott and Dick Woolcock are two of the engineers who worked on the construction and they're behind a reunion of past workers who helped construct it happening next month.
