Philip Morant School and College in Colchester to use aluminium transom door closers

The Alpro closers have been fitted on doors manufactured by Essex-based IDF Aluminium Ltd which help to hydraulically control the opening and closing of an aluminium door. Features include dual closing speed to allow flexibility, three levels of spring strength and 90-degree hold open facility.
Builders and glaziers benefit from the ability to adjust the latching and closing force according to the weight and height of individual doors as well as type of usage. Fine-tuning to accommodate the exact needs of a pupil and staff user base is all-important in a school application.
Transom closers are hidden within the transom header bar of a door making them the preferred choice in premises where a special attention is given to aesthetics as is the case at Colchester where the school’s art teacher is designing a screen-printed gable end fabric to be featured in a common area.
IDF Aluminium specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium doors. The door solutions are designed for use in commercial and public sector environments where usage may be high but maintenance costs must be minimised.
The company has 30 years’ experience in the shop front and commercial door market. IDF Aluminium ensures a quality service by designing and fabricating all of their doors and shop fronts in-house with no use of sub-contractors. The client portfolio covers transport, local government, healthcare and education from schools through to universities.
