Novelis has published Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for selected products in its European portfolio used in architectural and construction applications, aiming to provide customers with verified environmental data for sustainable building projects.
{alcircleadd}The EPDs cover a range of aluminium solutions, including primary-grade materials, high-recycled-content alloys, advanced products such as HRC57S, and anodised aluminium products containing more than 90 per cent recycled content. According to the company, the declarations were developed in line with international standards and independently verified by a third party to ensure transparency and consistency in environmental reporting.
Michael Hahne, Vice President Commercial at Novelis Europe, said transparent and reliable environmental data has become increasingly important for customers across the construction sector. He said the EPDs would help customers meet regulatory, certification and project-specific requirements while supporting sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
Demand for aluminium products with higher recycled content continues to grow in the construction industry, driven by stricter environmental regulations, sustainability certification schemes and climate targets set by developers and building owners. Novelis said it is seeing a growing number of customer inquiries specifying minimum recycled content requirements, reflecting the increasing focus on circularity and low-carbon aluminium materials in architecture and construction.
The company added that the newly published EPDs are intended to support sustainability reporting, environmental assessments and product development by providing data for life cycle assessments and carbon footprint calculations.
